About Amatøren
The House
Amatøren is the student house at Sogn Student Village.It used to be a restaurant and pub in the house. After this "Tavern at Sogn" closed its doors, a group of students started Amatøren in 1998.
The arrangements is organised by a volunteering board, and they include concerts, parties, gaming nights among other things. It is also possible to rent rehersal rooms for bands, to rent rooms to e.g. meeting for student associations or to rent the house for a party. In the pub you can play both pool and fussball for free, or borrow board games.Amatøren is a part of SiOs offering for students, and all its income is used on student welfare. The non-students are of course also welcome to visit!
The Board
The Organisation "Amatøren" is run by a volunteer board consisting of students. They organize arrangements, work with promotion, co-ordinate rental and do a lot of volunteer work to make Amatøren run. We are always looking for positive people who want to work at Amatøren!If you want to put up pool tournaments, or make a photographergroup, or do you think we should arrange more classical concerts? Or maybe you have another idea that you just need a place and maybe a little help to arrange? Get in touch, the sky is the limit!

Practical Information
Amatøren is at Sogn Studentby, next to Rema 1000.To get there, take Subway number 3, 4 or 5 to Ullevål Stadion or Bus Number 25 to Yrkesskolen. The last subway to the city centre leaves at 00:59, but on Friday and Saturday there is also a night-time bus, the last one leaves at 03:30.
